Important Speakers at our April Meeting of the Scottsmoor Community Association
At our monthly meeting on April 22nd, we had two speakers. The first was from 211 Brevard, a local organization that provides help to Brevard citizens who need free counseling in how to arrange home health care, alzheimer's care help, transportation help, suicide prevention hotline help, calls to elders from the Sunshine Service, and many more local programs. All of these services can be found through a call to 211 in Brevard. They also have a website at:
Our second speaker was from Brevard Waste Management. She explained to us the new Automated Trash and Recycling Program. We viewed samples of 2 of the 3 new trash cart sizes. We learned about the costs of the new program and we were able to ask questions about the new system.
Shown in photo: Papa Bear and Baby Bear. Mama Bear not shown.

We were given free grocery reusable bags as well. Each one lists the phone number of the Brevard Recycling Program.

We had the EELS guy (Brevard County Environmentally Endangered Lands Program) Xavier de Seguin des Hons, at our March Membership Meeting! We learned about the current state of the horseback riding/ biking / hiking lands around Scottsmoor as well as future plans for these lands. In addition to answering all our questions, Xavier was kind enough to provide us with this map:

We also learned about opting in for Brevard County Emergency Press Releases. Check our Local_Info Page for that.
