Rehearsals begin September 7th for holiday concert
(Melbourne, FL) August 26, 2010 -- The Brevard Community Chorus begins rehearsals on Tuesday, September 7th, at 7:00 p.m. in Room 160 on the Melbourne campus of Brevard Community College. Experienced singers who enjoy challenging music with orchestral accompaniment are encouraged to audition. New members will be accepted through September 21st. For more information, contact Dr. Robert E. Lamb at (321) 433-7629.
The 100+ member chorus began in 1969 and performs at BCC’s King Center for the Performing Arts. A joint holiday concert with the Brevard Children’s Chorus is scheduled for December 11th on the main stage. Additionally, the women of the chorus will join the Brevard Symphony Orchestra in a featured performance of a Midsummer Night’s Dream on February 5th. The 41st performing season of the Brevard Community Chorus will conclude with a spring concert featuring major works by Brahms and Stravinsky on May 7th.
Dr. Lamb is looking forward to resuming rehearsals and what the summer of 2011 might bring for the group.
“Right now, we’re looking at three possible touring destinations for the chorus,” said Lamb. “Argentina, Austria and the Czech Republic are all in the running. It’s always a thrill to perform in those grand churches and cathedrals. The sound just goes on forever.”

The Brevard Community Chorus is auditioning new singers for its 41st performing season. Call Conductor Dr. Robert E. Lamb at:
