Last night, we began a series of monthly raffles. The first item we raffled was an AR-15, which was heavily discounted and customized by ZLS guns/ammo in Edgewater FL. The Rifle/Accessory/Ammo package is valued at $750. By all measures, the raffle kick-off was a huge success.
Sheriff Wayne Ivey came to speak at our monthly meeting. He spoke for two hours, took questions, and stayed for another 45 minutes to take pictures with residents and let the kids play with his bloodhound, Junny. At the conclusion of his speech, he drew the winning ticket for the rifle. The winner was present and a resident of Mims who is currently looking to move to Scottsmoor.
This was an exciting night because not only did we raise almost $2,500 for the association with the first raffle, but we also had over 90 people in attendance at the meeting, several of which signed up as members for the first time.
Last night we also unveiled the raffle prize for next month, an Oklahoma Joe’s 3-in-1 grill and smoker combo package valued at $650.
