Today the Scottsmoor Community Association, working hand-in-hand with Hummingbird food pantry to hosted our first community-wide food distribution event. We served over 125 local families at the Scottsmoor Meeting Hall by providing them with grocery items donated by local stores and food banks.
Collectively we had over 30 volunteers that were bringing in pallets, loading and unloading boxes, bagging food, and placing it into the vehicles of those in need.
It was a hot day, it poured buckets of rain and got humid and steamy, but we muscled through and worked efficiently to get across the finish line.
The day was a success and we would really like to host this event again if the opportunity presents itself!
